River
I guess we couldn't be without a trusty lab for too long.
Thanks to Lab Rescue of North Carolina, we found a one year old lab named River yesterday. We brought her home and she appears to be adjusting well. She seems pretty mellow and I am sure will be a fine addition to our family.

We Miss You Tchaika!
Tchaika died unexpectently today from what appears to be cancer. She was 8 years old. She was a good dog. Our first baby.
Loved to swim in Lake Hartwell.
Loved to fetch tennis balls.
Loved to lay on our couch.
Loved to chase squirrels.
Loved to have her ears rubbed.
Loved to eat anything.
She was always gentle with the kids. If she wanted your attention, she would paw you until she got it.
She will be missed.

One happy dog
I found this picture today while using a Flickr account I don't normally use. It was probably our first digital picture. I remember I borrowed a $500 digital camera from work to take this picture in the spring of 2000.

Camping at Asbury
For the last two years, I have taken Annaka to Asbury Hills Camp (in the SC mountains) for a weekend long camping. The camp organizes a relaxing Father/Child weekend with plenty of activities. This year I decided that Jack was old enough to join us. Mom got a weekend free pass.
We had a good time. Annaka played with her friend that has been there every time and Jack had fun playing in the big creek and catching his first fish.

Day- 11 Fort Niagara and Home Sweet Home
Our plane did not leave Buffalo until late afternoon, so we decided to travel downstream of Niagara river to Fort Niagara. It was fun letting the kids run around more freely, especially after a couple days of New York city and keeping them close. We got home late. A fun trip was had by all.
